Last week we took Mia to her first amusement park, Gilroy Gardens. Gilroy Gardens is a small amusement park for the 10 and younger crowd...perfect for a first trip. Her first ride was on the carousel; she didn't want to ride on a horse, but preferred the stationary seats. She had a good time on the various cars, animals, ferris wheel, paddle boats, etc. Our last ride of the day was the mini-carousel, just her size. By this time, she was ready to get on that horse and go up and down on a real carousel. If you ask her what her favorite ride was, she says "the horse."
As anyone from this area knows, you can't go to Gilroy without smelling garlic (I think it's the garlic capital of the world for you non-California folk) and going to the outlets! 150 stores for your shopping pleasure. We actually chose to stay overnight and spend one day at the outlets too. Mia had a great time shopping for purses at one store and had some 15-20 purses hanging off of our stroller handles. (Before Mom started putting them all back-we've got plenty of purses at home.)
We're counting down the day until Mia's third birthday now. Less than two weeks!

This is her very first ride at an amusement park-on the carousel with NaiNai.

First ride all by herself!

Yes, the hat does look silly at times, but she likes it and it keeps the hot sun off her face.

Finally, a carousel horse her size...and the whole ride just for her. No crowds this day!

She's all girly girl!
