This afternoon we had one quick paperwork trip to another office to apply for LaoLao's passport. LaoLao will travel home on a Chinese passport with her Chinese name. After that I tried to get LaoLao to take a nap. She does not nap. So instead we opted for somewhat quiet time while she played in the crib, and I read my book. (Mia was off hanging with NaiNai and Poppy.)
After dinner we decided to try LaoLao and swimming. We were hesitant as LaoLao seems to cry easily at night. (Tonight she cried at dinner when she dropped a noodle onto the tray...it didn't hit the floor, just the tray. We wonder if they got in trouble In the foster home for messes, or if she is just overly anxious right now.). Well, she loved the pool. It helps, that nights are very nice here, and the water is nice and warm. She immediately started saying the word "splash" with us while she hit her hands in the water. She even said her first verbal name (she knows and understands all of our names receptively). Not MaMa, but Poppy when he came out to watch us swim. It was quiet, but it was a definitive Poppy. So Man That Gives Me Food wins out over MaMa.
Tomorrow we are going to the popular Safari Park. When we took Mia to a zoo, 5 years ago in China, ther was a total solar eclipse. We were in darkness for 10 minutes in the middle of the morning. (You can read about it if you go back into the July 2009 archives of this blog.) Let's see if tomorrow holds something equally grand!
