There was nothing scheduled today so we didn’t have to hurry this morning. We had breakfast, and Lollipop was a bit tired so we went back to the hotel room for a mid-morning nap. She woke up with the sniffles this morning so she may have not had a good’s night sleep. After her nap, she was in much better spirits.
Miss L.P. had her first play date today. We met in the hotel lobby to play with a 3½ year old girl who was adopted at the same time as L.P. We had seen her parents and sister at breakfast on Gotcha Day and had commented that they were the only other non-Chinese at the hotel. We shouldn’t have been surprised when we saw them at the Civil Affairs Office at the same time we met Lollipop. They were also with us on Tuesday for all the official adoption proceedings. So, the girls played a bit together. They had fun playing with the bug cars. We will see that family in Guangzhou as they have the same flight as us and are staying at the same hotel.
For dinner tonight we went to a nicer restaurant next to the hotel. Our Hefei guide called the restaurant in advance and ordered for us. We had a cooked egg dish, some marinated/pickled cucumbers, cabbage, and green beans, some type of cooked root, sweet corn and pine nuts, a sweet and spicy squash/eggplant? dish, rice, and watermelon, bananas, and tomatoes for dessert. I’ll have to ask Ami tomorrow what all the dishes actually were. Even at the nice restaurant, our meal was cheap, at about $20.
Lollipop is becoming more and more comfortable. We get lots of giggles, laughs, smiles, and gibber-gabber. Today she added a couple more words to her vocabulary including “bye-bye” (with a wave included), and her name. She is quite a homebody and loves the hotel room. When we have been out and are standing at the door to come in, a big smile crosses her face. She gets a little anxious when we are getting dressed to go somewhere. She is fine when we get there, but she’d probably love to stay in the hotel room all day.
Her favorite new toy today was a comb. I put her hair in pig tails today, and she carried the comb for most of the rest of the day. She combs her hair, or tries to comb it. She usually uses the back side of the comb. She’ll comb my hair too. We eventually had to take it away from her because she wouldn’t go to sleep, she just wanted to play with the comb.
Tomorrow we receive all of the paperwork necessary to travel to Guangzhou. We will receive her Chinese passport among other papers. We have an evening flight to Guangzhou where we will spend the final six nights.

I was trying to get Lollipop to laugh for the picture by putting a stacking cup on my head. Instead, she imitated me. She is great at mimicing adults. 
Lollipop doesn't know to smile for the camera yet, but she laughs at the flash after each picture. She also knows that she can see the pictures on the camera screen afterwords, so she likes to come to you to see the picture.
This is what Lollipop was doing tonight instead of going to sleep. Her smile and giggles are hard to ignore!
